Hippotherapy: the use of the movement of the horse as a treatment strategy in physical, occupational and speech-language therapy sessions for people living with disabilities. Hippotherapy has been shown to improve muscle tone, balance, posture, coordination, motor development as well as emotional well-being.
WTRRA provides Hippotherapy through the services of Gayle McCampbell, OTR-R . Gayle has been involved with WTRRA and equine assisted and therapies since the founding of WTRRA in 1994. She has attended many PATH-Intl conferences and several AHA trainings and conferences. She is a valuable asset to the team of instructors through her consult and trainings. Gayle also provides occupational therapy services through the Department of Health and Welfare Early Intervention programs, Salmon public school and the Discovery Care nursing facility.
